Took a Pause in Writing
To those of you that follow me I took a bit of a pause last month while I worked on my QValue Whitepaper, which I will be releasing this month.
I’ve expanded how I view QValue as it is much more than a simple value-scoring model. It is instead QValue asks the organization to change how they work, fund, plan, and estimate across the entire organization. Agile has been too focused on just the technology side and where Agile has ‘failed’ is when it starts to come in contact with the rest of the organization.
You would think that every organization would be focused on value delivery, but in reality, most organizations simply guess at what value they are getting from their investments. Certainly, most successful organizations deliver value, but there are many opportunities to maximize the value of your investments.
QValue starts at the Strategic level and provides a way to quantify expected value. With this format, we can now align people’s OKRs to the strategic outcomes we want everyone to focus on achieving. With this focus, we then lay the foundation for having knowledge-based conversations about where impediments to value delivery are found in the organization and then address them.
